Glasses – Contact Lenses
If you regularly wear glasses or contact lenses, it’s important to bring them to your appointment. The visual acuity test is carried out taking your usual correction into account.
DNI – NIE (ID)
As a general rule, bring your valid DNI or NIE. It is essential for verifying your identity and correctly issuing the official medical certificate.
Illnesses – Medication
If you have any chronic condition or take medication regularly, let us know during the medical check-up so we can complete your clinical history correctly.
Medical Report
If you have recent medical reports related to your health, it’s advisable to bring them to make the medical assessment easier, especially for renewals. However, it is not mandatory.

They’re quick processes. Most of the medical examinations we carry out in Málaga (drivers, firearms, nautical) take between 15 and 20 minutes. We want you to leave with your paperwork ready as soon as possible.
It depends on the type of license. For example, driving certificates are usually valid for 90 days for submission to the Traffic Office (although we process it on the spot), and firearms certificates also have a submission deadline. We’ll tell you the exact validity of your document before you leave.
For drivers (DGT), yes: we handle the fee and the entire process online. For other certificates (such as nautical or firearms), we give you the official medical certificate so you can submit it to the corresponding body along with your application.
